Toddie married her high school sweetheart, Gaston Meares Randolph, on November 5, 1944, after he returned from World War II in the European Theater as an Army Air Corps Fighter Pilot. Toddie was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom while Meares worked in the textile industry in Tennessee, New Jersey, Virginia, and South Carolina before retirement in 1985, when he and Toddie moved back to Asheville.
A breast cancer survivor, Toddie was an active volunteer for 2 decades with Reach for Recovery and the American Cancer Society. She was a member of Kenilworth Presbyterian Church in Asheville prior to her relocation to Alexandria, VA to live with her oldest son and his wife.
Toddie was preceded in death by Meares in November 2012, and is survived by: son Gaston Meares Randolph, Jr and wife Nancy; son Jeffrey Bruce Randolph and wife Carole; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family thanks the staff at Synergy HomeCare who provided companion and nursing Caregivers to Toddie over the last six years in Alexandria, and Vitas Hospice for their loving end-of-life care.
